Dr. Rakesh Kumar is a semiconductor industry veteran, an entrepreneur, and an educator. He has held numerous leadership roles at IEEE including Chair of IEEE Roadmaps, Chair of IEEE DataPort and AskIEEE, and President of the Solid-State Circuits Society. During 40+ years in the semiconductor industry he has been VP&GM at Cadence Design, and has held various technical and management positions at Unisys and Motorola. Dr. Kumar has authored the book “Fabless Semiconductor Implementation”, published by McGraw Hill.

Sam Daws is Senior Advisor to the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative at Oxford University, and Director of Multilateral AI. He is a subject expert in AI governance, geopolitics and sustainability, and has spent 35 years in multilateral policy roles including serving as a First Officer to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in New York, and as Deputy Director (UN) in the Cabinet Office advising the UK Prime Minister on the creation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He has also served as an expert advisor to the ITU’s AI for Good Summit.

Tariq’s research interests are in the area of Communications , Signal Processing Engineering Management and AI. He has been IEEE Vice President Educational Activities and more recently the Chair of the IEEE Climate Change Committee- (CCIRCC). He is Fellow IEEE and International Member of the US National Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

My name is Thomas Hanselmann and I studied Electrical Engineering with major in communications at ETHZ during 1988 to 1993. Later, I migrated to Australia and completed my PhD at the University of Western Australia and worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne for almost five years. During this time, I started my consulting company, Wise Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd, in 2006 through which I did some consulting in Australia and Switzerland. This finally brought me back to Switzerland in 2013 permanently, where I work for HSE AG as a Principal Algorithm & Data Analytics Engineer in the field of medical device development, where I was involved in Next-Generation-DNA-Sequencing and my latest project is signal processing for upgrading a PCR machine to a quantitative version. I have broad scientific interests spanning physics, chemistry and biology where I love to apply my knowledge of sensor networks, signal processing, computer vision, machine learning & statistics.

Dario is the Director of Sustainable Energy at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Prior to joining UNECE, Dario was the Chief Underwriting Officer at SACE, responsible for export credit, the EU Green New Deal and the guarantees under the EU Temporary Framework. Before joining SACE, Dario spent more than a decade with General Electric (GE), at the Council of Europe Development Bank and with the European Commission. His career started at Cargill.
